International Dawn Chorus Day is the worldwide celebration of Nature’s daily Miracle. Why not start your day by joining us for a chance to hear the wondrous bird song on a dawn chorus walk through Downhill Forest, nestled in Binevenagh Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Early morning refreshments will be provided.

Ulster Wildlife Trust invite you to a FREE Rockpool Rummage at Whitehead on Monday 1st April 2013 from 10am – 12pm.

It is the 160^th anniversary of the first time a resident of Castlerock was able to welcome the arrival of a train at his own Castlerock Station. This advent of the railway gave the signal for the development of the village proper on the previously totally agricultural Freehall Watson and Bogtown Townlands. Today we are celebrating the return of the railway service linking the village with Derry to the West and Coleraine to the East. Michael Palin ranked this stretch of line one of the most picturesque in the World when he filmed it for the BBC some years ago, which gives us every reason to doubly celebrate the return of our beloved iron road with a due display of commemoration and celebration, enlivened by a heady mix of nostalgia, fun and games for all ages and tastes.
