Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust

The Causeway Coast & Glens Heritage Trust is a charity devoted to protecting and enhancing the unique heritage of the Causeway Coast and Glens area, including (but not limited to) the Binevenagh Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Binevenagh AONB), Causeway Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Causeway Coast AONB), Antrim Coast and Glens Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Antrim AONB) and the Giant’s Causeway and Causeway Coast World Heritage Site (Giant’s Causeway WHS).

It includes representation from the Causeway Coast & Glens and Mid & East Antrim Borough Councils in partnership with representatives from the environment, the community, the education, the farming and the tourism sectors.

ANTRIM COAST & GLENS AONB

The Antrim Coast & Glens AONB contains some of the most beautiful and varied scenery in Northern Ireland, including Rathlin Island, the Glens of Antrim and the coastal area between Larne and Ballycastle.

GIANT’S CAUSEWAY WHS

The Giant’s Causeway and Causeway Coast is Northern Ireland’s only World Heritage Site in recognition of its geological and geomorphological values, its history of scientific study and exceptional landscape values.

BINEVENAGH AONB

The Binevenagh AONB stretching from Portstewart to near Limavady represents a landscape of dramatic cliffs and coastal lowlands including some of the finest beaches and dune systems in Ireland.

CAUSEWAY COAST AONB

The Causeway Coast AONB covers 4,200ha of land and extends along 18 miles (29km) of spectacular, rugged and dramatic coastline between Portrush and Ballycastle.

HEART OF THE GLENS

The Heart of The Glens Landscape Partnership Scheme was a programme for people in The Glens in Northern Ireland to reconnect with the natural landscape and their native heritage.
