Sustainable Development Officer (Tourism)
Overseeing the delivery of tourism projects, the SDO will identify and develop opportunities and funding streams to enable communities to play their part in the sustainable development of the area. Candidates will have a good understanding of sustainable development and previous experience in tourism, protected area management, project management and partnership. Excellent social skills, good communication and the ability to work with a wide range of people are essential. Alternatively, theTrust may choose to appoint a Sustainable DevelopmentAssistant who would not be expected to have the same level of experience.
AONB Officer
The AONB Officer will play a key part in co-ordinating and promoting the implementation of AONB Management Plans, development of best practice environmental management, raising awareness and development of policy. The post requires someone with a “can do” attitude who has the ability to communicate effectively and influence others.An excellent understanding of environmental management and national and international legislation and policy are required.
Both posts are for a fixed term two year period however, subject to funding, either or both may be extended beyond this period. Flexible working may be considered.
The salary for the Officer posts is NJC points 26 to 28 (£21,837 to £23,405) p.a.
